Five Minute Breakfast

Hey guys! I tried out a new breakfast that was really easy and only took five minutes to make!
I used Greek yogurt and apples.
image
I’ve tried a few other brands of Greek yoghurt, but so far I like Nestle best!
image
After putting the yoghurt in a bowl and adding the apples, I put it in the freezer for 3 minutes to cool it, plus I think it tastes better this way.
image
After three minutes you can add anything to it, I added cinnamon and a bit of honey, which I think went great together!:-)

Try it out and let me know how it was!

Dino Costa: Truth Unscripted

Hey guys! I got to watch "Dino Costa: Truth Unscripted" a documentary on radio personality Dino Costa, done by the talented Joel Franco.
Joel Franco has done amazing documentaries and has several exciting projects coming up, you can see all his work on his website: http://chesfilms.com/

We've all seen documentaries that promise detail, and never quite deliver but this documentary reveals so many different aspects of Dino's life.
We get to see him with his family, see details on his childhood, and some of his toughest moments on both a personal and professional level.

There were heart warming moments like seeing him interact with his adorable daughter, and talk about his childhood sweetheart, as well as heartbreaking moments like losing his son, and moving on after his divorce.

The documentary covered family, struggles, and a journey that is only beginning, but one that I want to continue following.

You can view the trailer, and more details on the film here:: http://chesfilms.com/documentary/dino-costa-truth-unscripted/
I can't wait to see what else Joel has in store for us!

Q&A with High Latitude Style

Hey guys! I did a fun Q&A with Nicole from High Latitude Style, you can view her blog on (http://highlatitudestyle.com/) Nicole is from Alaska, and her blog focuses on how to dress in a cold climate. Her blog is always such fun to read, just look at her latest post (http://highlatitudestyle.com/2014/05/17/paper-gown-metal-dress/).
Here are the answers to my Q&A with Nicole:
1. Why did you start blogging?
I live in Fairbanks Alaska. This means about 7 months of snow and cold weather. Thus, people of course dress to not freeze or die from hypothermia. Well sometimes people just grab whatever is close by and provides a decent insulation to quickly pick up their kids or walk the dog. You understand that when you get a call from your kid that they missed the school bus you have not time to think about an outfit. You just throw something over your PJs and go so the kid gets out of the forty below  school yard or where ever they are. This needed survival behavior let to an article that was published all over the US stating that Alaskans are the worst people of the nation. I want to show everybody that 1) one can dress stylishly at freezing temperatures and 2) that Alaskans have style. One has to take into account the situation.
2. If you could change one thing about Alaska what would you change?
I love living in Alaska. I do not mind the cold, dark nights or the warm, white summer nights. I even do not mind the mosquitoes or earthquakes. I would love to have a great clothing store in Fairbanks like Nordstrom, H&M, you name it. There is Sears, Fred Meyer, WalMart plus some small boutiques covering just one style at a time. That’s all. Thus, I shop a lot online.
3. What is the one thing you could never eat, (not even if your life depended on it!) My cat.
4. What is the one fashion trend you hate most?
That is hard to say. Hate is a very strong word. I dislike ruffles on me, but they look darn cute on blonde, brunettes and red heads, young twenty something and younger with curly hair. Totally romantic and adorable. I dislike circle midi skirts for me as they do not work on my frame. But Atlantic Pacific looks great in them. You get the idea. I think the thing I would hate is when I would have to wear a trend that does not work for me.
5. What do you consider a timeless fashion statement?
A great bag, great well made pumps or my Collier de Chien bangle that my husband gave me.
6. What is your favorite quote?
Oops! That’s hard and depends on the situation.
When related to relationships:”The most beautiful clothes that can dress a woman are the arms of the man she loves.”— Yves Saint-Laurent. When related to work I love my former MS adviser’s saying “The day has 24 hours. If that’s not enough there is always also the night.” However, I always feared he meant it. LOL. When related to men I love Marilyn Monroe’s saying “I don’t mind living in a men’s world as long as I can be a woman in it.” When related to career  “Give a girl the right shoes, and she can conquer the world.”— Marilyn Monroe. Related to fashion and style Isaac Mizrahi “You have to try out everything with everything and look what looks the rightest way wrong.”
7. If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
I like temperatures around 7l0 to 80F (about 20-25C) for running around, sight seeing, shopping  and sitting outside in cafes or for dinner. I also like walking along lonely beaches with my husband watch wild life.It should be affordable and a save place without any hostile behavior towards or danger for tourists. Thus any place that fulfills this is fine. If I would not get sea sick (unfortunately I do) I would probably love to make a Caribbean dance cruise with my husband.
Thank you so much for participating in this Nicole.:-)
I’m considering making this a regular feature on the blog. Let me know what you thought of this post, and if you’d like to                       participate in a fun Q&A like this one.:-)

Visiting Ampang

Hey guys!
I got to go to Ampang on Saturday afternoon to visit a friend, decided to take one train straight from Kelana Jaya to Ampang Park which is near the place she lives! The train ride is about 30 minutes long (you might want to arm yourself with music!) and then took a bus which was about a 10 minute bus drive to her house!
image
I took this soon as I got off the train, I couldn’t believe I finally got there-I know the train ride was only 30 minutes but it felt like forever!
image
That’s the Kelana train station, it was surprisingly empty for a weekend!
image
Decided to take this picture (which was at the train station as well) as a representation on just how much construction is going around the country, the sound of drilling at 7 a.m is almost becoming normal!
image
image
Like those buildings didn’t exist last time I was here! But it’s always nice to see something new!
Finally got to the house, and went for some grocery shopping for her, we went into cold storage and I saw this:
image
The coffee junkie in me was tempted to try it, but an energy drink and coffee in one? That looks like some serious energy overdrive!!
image
On the way back I saw this sky and thought it looked like war of the worlds or something!x-D
image
Anyway what was meant to be just a couple of hours turned into me running for the last train!

Street Life 2

Hey guys!
Decided to add on to the ‘weekly photo challenge:Street Life’ by daily post!:-)
This is a street that I’ve been walking past for several years now. When in a place like Kuala Lumpur that is pretty much tidy, and bright lights remind you that you’re in the city, seeing several advertisements for loans/lorry transportation/sale of condominiums/cleaning services amongst many others are pretty ugly to most but for me are a warm reminder that I’m walking home and on familiar territory. The signs are on trees/power point posts by electricity suppliers/the ground/ and pretty much anywhere there’s a surface to stick something on!
I’ve posted some photos below for you to see!:-)

Street Life

Hey guys!
This blog post is for the weekly photo challenge with the daily post!
image
That for me is my favorite street, this is the Raja Chulan road it’s within walking distance of every single important landmark in Malaysia! I however, mostly love it at night, as you guys can probably tell from my other posts and my instagram page I love night walks, and bright lights, plus I get a picture perfect view of both the Twin Towers, as well as KL towers!:-)
It’s a pretty simple road to most people, but for me it holds memories of several walks through the rain, while being blinded by the haze, and being burnt by the sun on hot days like the sun was doing it deliberately!-D
